Obituary

John Joseph Troxler, 72, of Martinsburg, WV, died on Monday, December 18, 2006 at City Hospital at Martinsburg.

He was born March 3, 1934 at Marshall, Texas and was the son of the late Ettiene Troxler and Christine Rogerson Troxler.

He served 24 years in the U. S. Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars retiring in 1977 as a Sergeant Major at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY.

He was then employed for 17 years in medical administration at Veteran Medical Centers at Waco, TX, Montrose NY and Martinsburg, WV, retiring in 1994.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of St. Peters Catholic Church at Harpers Ferry, WV.
He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Catholic War Veterans and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jean Troxler at home; one daughter, Judy Grove and husband, Philip of Martinsburg; one son, Larry Troxler of East Fishkill, NY; three sisters, Agnes Pomeroy of Lexington, VA, Catherine Moore of Ft. Worth, TX and Mary Frances Messer of Eden Prairie, MN; two brothers, Louis Troxler of Destrehan, LA and James Troxler of Ft. Smith, AR; and two grandchildren, Jonathan Michael Bradley and Anna Rose Bradley both of Martinsburg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. James Catholic Church at Charles Town, WV the celebrant will be the Rev. Fr. Brian Owens. Interment will be in St. Peters Cemetery at Harpers Ferry, WV.

The family will receive friends at the Eackles-Spencer & Norton Funeral Home, US 340 at Halltown Road, Charles Town/Harpers Ferry, WV, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.

Memorials may be made to St. James Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Peters Catholic Church, 60 Crosswinds Drive, Charles Town, WV 25414.
