Obituary

Paul Vernon Jackson, 94, of Charles Town, WV passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020 at his residence.

Born June 20, 1925 in Millville, WV, he wa the son of the late William Ellis Jackson and Ada Landers Jackson.

Paul was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II in England, France, Holland and Germany. He received the Bronze Star; Ribbons and Medals from European Africian America, Middle Eastern with four battle stars, WW II Victory Medal, Army of German Occupation, June 1944 for Liberation of Utah and Omaha Beach and the Good Conduct Medal. He also received a Certificate of Liberation of Normandy Beach and two Certificates of Merit.

He attended Harpers Ferry Grade School and Harpers Ferry High School, and retired from US Steel.

Paul was a member of the Leetown United Methodist Church, Jackson-Perks American Legion Post for 73 years and the Blue Ridge Pythian Lodge.

He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary C. Jackson, one daughter, Brenda G. Hoffmaster and Bryan; one son, Paul S. Jackson and Karen, one grandson, Christopher Hoffmaster and Kerri, one great granddaughter, Ripley Hoffmaster, and one sister, Sharon Wysong and Jack.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, William "Pap" Jackson and two sisters, Dorothy Biller and Mary Anne Jackson.

Services will be private. A public service will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
